The woman behind Mystic Moon Haven

Meet Heather Melia Jacobson - " Mystic Melia"

I didn't set out to create a business. I set out to rebuild a life.

From my earliest memories, I experienced the world differently. I sensed things I couldn't explain, felt deeply connected to nature, and often knew things before they happened. While other children were learning how the world worked, I was quietly trying to understand experiences that didn't fit neatly into words. Looking back, I see those early years as the beginning of a lifelong relationship with intuition, spirituality, and the unseen rhythms that have always guided me.

When I was fourteen years old, I was given my first medicine pouch by a shaman, an experience that profoundly shaped the direction of my life. It wasn't simply a gift; it felt like an invitation to begin walking a path of learning, reverence, and service. Over the years that followed, I was fortunate to study with remarkable teachers from many different traditions. Each one offered a different piece of the puzzle, reminding me that wisdom is never owned by one person or one practice, but discovered through a lifetime of curiosity, humility, and experience.

At eighteen, a near-death experience forever changed my understanding of life. It opened questions that could never again be ignored and deepened my desire to understand the connection between body, mind, spirit, and consciousness. Decades later, surviving a lightning strike became another defining moment in my life. For me, it wasn't simply a physical event, it marked the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. It became a powerful invitation to stop merely surviving and begin living with greater authenticity, courage, and purpose.

My path has also been deeply shaped by my ancestral roots. Discovering my Norse lineage gave language to a connection I had long felt with the natural world, the cycles of the seasons, and the quiet wisdom found in ancient traditions. Rather than seeing spirituality as something separate from everyday life, I came to understand it as something woven into how we live, care for one another, and walk through the world with courage and integrity.

But if I'm honest, the experiences that transformed me most weren't only the extraordinary ones. They were the deeply human ones.

The seasons of heartbreak.

The relationships that asked me to rediscover my worth.

The moments when life fell apart and I had to decide whether I would remain in survival or begin rebuilding from the ground up.

Those chapters taught me that healing isn't simply about recovering from the past. Healing is learning how to create a future your nervous system can finally relax into. It's learning to trust your body again, reclaim your voice, strengthen your boundaries, and build a life that reflects who you have become rather than who you had to be to survive.

Through that journey, I found strength in movement, peace in nature, connection through women's circles, healing through music, and profound wisdom in both ancient traditions and modern understandings of the nervous system. Slowly, I stopped asking, "How do I heal?" and began asking a different question:

"How do I build a life my healed self can actually live inside?"

That question has become the foundation of everything I do.

Today, through Mystic Moon Haven, I help women reconnect with themselves through embodied practices, nervous system support, yoga, nature, ritual, community, and meaningful conversation. My work isn't about fixing anyone. I believe each woman already carries incredible wisdom within her. My role is to create spaces where she can remember that wisdom, strengthen her capacity to hold it, and build a life that honors the woman she is becoming.

I believe healing changes us, but embodied sovereignty changes how we live. When our bodies feel safe, our voices become stronger. Our boundaries become clearer. Our relationships become healthier. Our homes become sanctuaries. Our purpose becomes easier to hear. Little by little, our outer lives begin to reflect the healing that has taken place within.

When I'm not teaching or holding space for women, you'll usually find me hiking forest trails, chasing waterfalls, practicing yoga, strength training, photographing wild places, writing, making music, or sitting quietly with a cup of tea watching the sunrise. Nature has always been one of my greatest teachers. It reminds me that nothing blooms before its season, nothing in creation rushes its unfolding, and the strongest roots are often growing where no one can yet see them.

If you've found your way here, perhaps you're standing at the edge of your own new beginning.

I'd be honored to walk beside you as you remember who you are and together, build a life your healed self can truly call home.

A Different Approach to Healing

For much of my life, I believed healing meant recovering from what had happened. I thought that once I processed the pain, found forgiveness, and understood my story, I would finally feel whole. But life taught me something deeper. Healing isn't the destination. Healing is the foundation.

The real work begins when we ask: How do I build a life that honors the woman I've become?

To me, healing isn't about endlessly revisiting our wounds or trying to become someone new. It's about remembering who we are, restoring what has been depleted, and creating a life that reflects our deepest values. It's about building strength in our bodies, safety in our nervous systems, peace in our homes, authenticity in our relationships, and meaning in the way we live each day.

This is what I call Embodied Sovereignty.

It's the practice of becoming fully present in your own life, not just emotionally or spiritually, but physically, relationally, creatively, and practically. It's learning to trust yourself again. To move with intention. To create boundaries rooted in self-respect. To cultivate a body that supports your dreams and a life that no longer requires constant survival.

I don't believe you need fixing. I believe you need space to remember your wisdom, the courage to reclaim your voice, and support as you build a life that finally feels like home.

MY work is both grounded and deeply intuitive, bridging ancient practices with modern understanding of the body and nervous system.

A portion of MY work is given back to indigenous stewardship and land-based reciprocity when applicable.

The Path That Prepared Me

Over the decades, I have been blessed to study with teachers, healers, elders, shamans, clinicians, and guides from many different traditions. Each offered a unique perspective, but the greatest lessons were never about collecting techniques, they were about learning to listen deeply, discern wisely, and trust the quiet wisdom that lives within us all.

What makes my approach different from every other coach, yoga teacher, therapist, or healer?

The answer isn't a modality. It's my philosophy. I don't stop at healing, I help women integrate that healing into every part of their lives until the way they live reflects the way they've grown.
